Vegan Oatmeal Cookie Milkshakes
Welcome to Nora’s Virtual Bridal Shower!!!!
I’ve always loved the idea of virtual parties when you can’t have a real party with blog friends. I met Nora about a year ago through blogging.
Now she’s getting MARRIED next month! So we’re having a gluten-free and dairy-free PARTY!!
Nora and I have stayed in touch through guest posting for each other. I made her pumpkin mug muffins and she made me black bean brownies (one of the most popular recipes on immaeatthat). And today we have quite the menu planned for her party…
Toasted Almond Granola Bars from Chez Catey Lou
Best Granola Recipe for Fall and GF, DF, Apple “Pie” from Baking A Moment
Vanilla Dark Chocolate Macarons from Bethcakes
Vegan Oatmeal Cookie Milkshakes from ImmaEatThat
Chocolate Coconut Macaroons from Gotta Get Baked
I decided to bring milkshakes to this party. And that right there is the wonderful thing about a virtual bridal shower. You could never bring milkshakes to a regular bridal shower because they would melt into a huge mess by the time you arrived at the party.
So this milkshake has cookies because I can not think of one thing in life that is not better with cookies. And when you put dessert on dessert good things happen. So you start with a batch of vegan oatmeal cookies. Vegan cookie dough means you can eat the dough. So if you only make 9 cookies when the recipe was supposed to make 12…I understand and nobody needs to know. It’ll be our secret.
Then you put the cookies into a blender and add in some frozen bananas (for creamy perfection), cinnamon and almond milk. And then you blend everything up into an oatmeal cookie milkshake.
Now that we’ve discussed the party food. How about some marriage advice, shall we? I’ve only been married 10 months, so Andrew and I are just learning what marriage is. I asked Andrew what marriage advice he has to give. He says, “always let wifey do all the cooking.” He kindly didn’t add the part about “wifey” being a control freak who likes to know exactly what and when we are eating and doesn’t deal well otherwise.
If I had to give marriage advice, I’ll default to the advice my grandpa always gave. He said, “marriage is not 50:50, it’s 100:100”.
And with that, HAPPY BRIDAL SHOWER, NORA!!! I have no doubt that you will be the most beautiful bride and will have the wedding of your dreams that you have worked so hard to plan!
P.S. Nora, I wish this party wasn’t virtual so we could finally meet in person<3.
