Meet the new sauce to cover life in.
If you’ve ever eaten tex-mex, you know they typically offer a red salsa and a green salsa to eat with the tortilla chips. I’ve always been partial to the red salsa, mainly because growing up the green salsa creeped me out so much that it had a lasting impact into adulthood.
But now, now that there is THE GREATEST Creamy Cilantro Sauce, I feel differently.
I was going to share this recipe inside another recipe (does that make sense? Like I was going to tell you what to do with this sauce.) But then!!!! But then I tried it and was like “this is special. this needs its own post. this is something people will wanna dip chips in.”
So here we are with dip.
Into the sauce goes avocado, oodles of cilantro that would make my cilantro-loving sister proud and some store-bought green salsa. I used a Hatch Salsa from Trader Joe’s. It worked, but many salsa would work. Pick your fav and get ready to have a new favorite creamy salsa/sauce to put on bucket of things.
Yield: ~1 1/4 cup of creamy salsa
Total Time: 5 minutes
1 large avocado
1 bunch cilantro
1/2 cup store-bought green salsa
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lime, juiced
pinch sea salt
2-4 tablespoons water (depending on how thin you want it)
In a food processor, combine all ingredients until smooth. Start with 2 tablespoons of water and add more to thin if desired.
psst. next week I’ll show you what I did with this sauce other than just dip chips in it.
