A day of furniture shopping.

Yesterday Andrew’s mom and I went furniture shopping for my new office.  I don’t enjoy interior design at all. It overwhelms me and I can’t make decisions and end up stressed.  Andrew’s mom is excellent at interior design and had already picked out 2 rugs and a love seat before we even got started.  YES! Let’s do this!

We met after breakfast at HomeGoods.  My breakfast was the tastiness I posted yesterday :)

Where we found most of the stuff we needed there – another love seat, lamps, side table for tea, a painting.  Once we got it back to my house, Maggie approved.  All the stuff in hanging out in our garage now until we get our office keys Friday (today!).

Then we stopped by World Market because I wanted a particular chair for my chair when I see clients.  I’m in love with it!

After World Market I was ready for lunch, so we headed to Chipotle.  2 crunchy tacos with beans, chicken, pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream.

After lunch we found one more love seat for either my waiting room or the office where I see clients…not sure where it’ll go.

Got all the stuff we needed by 1pm.  I’m telling you, Andrew’s mom is excellent with making decisions! It was super helpful to have her speed up the furniture buying process!

Later in the afternoon I finished some charting on clients and responded to emails.  Then had a cookie + milk snack.  Andrew made us some oatmeal cookies earlier this week!

Then I went and visited my grandma.

Back home I had another snack…

And made dinner for Andrew and me.

I had some leftover homemade pizza dough (this recipe!).  I like making a big batch of pizza dough and freezing it in several dough balls until I’m ready for a pizza night.  I topped it with pizza sauce, 2 kinds of cheeses, sautéed asparagus, and eggs.

Paired with ice cold cherry tomatoes.

Then Andrew and I finished watching the OJ documentary on Hulu.  And I had some orange sherbet.

I have a podcast interview this morning, a call with a therapist I’m hoping to collaborate with and then I’m going to start taking stuff to the office.  Can’t wait to see the office come together!

  1. Wow, it all looks adorable! I’m overwhelmed by decorating too, but I definitely love seeing a place come together with fun, unique pieces. I worked at our HomeGoods the holiday season before I sat for my RD exam. I loved it and getting to browse the new arrivals. ?

  2. Congrats on your new venture! Can’t wait to see your office or finished :) I work for myself also, and it’s the best!

  3. I am so excited for you to go out on your own. You’re going to do amazing. Hope the podcast was fun!

  4. Congrats on your new office! I recently started my own private practice and I’m thinking about getting an office as well. Can Andrew’s mom help me pick out furniture? :) I love that you have your own waiting area!
