breadsticks (my favorite carb to have with salads lately)

Lately, my favorite carb to pair with salads (this salad, in particular) has been homemade breadsticks.

HEB, my favorite grocery store in the world, sells frozen balls of pizza dough and they are perfect for making breadsticks!

To make these breadsticks I use this seasoning blend, which I’ve loved for a while now, but then forgot about for a couple years and recently remembered it. Have you tried it? Yes, it makes an excellent dipping spice, but it also is so great for topping pizza or breadsticks with. It’s salty-garlicky perfection. It’s worth finding and trying, if you haven’t already.

breadsticks

Yield: some breadsticks (i got 7 out of my pizza dough)

Ingredients:

ball of pizza dough
2 tbsp butter, melted
2 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated or finely shredded
1 heaping tsp Alessi's Dipping Spices
1 tsp minced garlic

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450ºF. Roll out pizza dough to whatever thickness you'd like your breadsticks to be. In a bowl, mix together butter, cheese, dipping spices, and minced garlic. Spread on top of dough. Bake until golden brown. Slice into bread sticks and serve with salad, lasagna, lasagna and salad, or whatever else sounds like it'd be good with breadsticks :)
