Every blogger seems to have a green smoothie recipe.
So here’s to giving into peer pressure.
Just kidding. Kind of.
You really can’t taste any vegetables at all.
And try as I may, I’m not a big fan of raw kale.
But in this smoothie there is not even a hint of kale-iness.
All you taste is the sweetness of the banana and strawberries blended with the cookie-esque flavor from the almond butter.
Mmm. I wasn’t expecting this to be so satisfying. It was.
Almond Butter Green Smoothie
1 large banana, frozen
6–8 frozen strawberries
2 Tbsp almond butter
1 cup almond milk
3 small kale leaves
1 1/2 cups spinach (or add until your blender if full)
Add the frozen banana, frozen strawberries, almond butter and almond milk to a blender. Remove kale leaves from their stem and throw them in the blender also. Fill the rest of your blender with spinach leaves. Cover and blend until smooth.
