French Toast Sandwich Waffles for an Epic Brunch.

French Toast Waffle Sandwiches \\ immaEATthat

Step one: Make the most delicious bread recipe you can find.

I suggest one of these…

Carrot Cake Bread

Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Banana Bread

Double Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Whole Wheat Banana Bread with Coconut Streusel

Nutella Swirled Banana Bread

Greek Yogurt Banana Bread (this is the recipe I used, but I replaced the flour with whole wheat pastry flour, the sugar with honey and added blackberries)

Step two: Slice the bread and soak it in french toast batter.

Step three: Top one slice of bread with your filling of choice (peanut butter, bananas, berries, nutella, almond butter, cinnamon, the list goes on and on and on) and top with another slice to make a sandwich.

Step six: Open waffle maker a tiny bit before you think you should to make sure the waffle isn’t burning.

French Toast Sandwich Waffles

Yield: makes 3 french toast sandwich waffles

Ingredients:

French Toast

2 eggs

1/3 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

6 slices of any epic bread (see bread ideas above)

filling ideas: nutella, peanut butter, banana, berries, cream cheese, greek yogurt, coconut

Frosting

1/2 cup plain greek yogurt

2 tablespoons nutella

Directions:

Heat up your waffle maker.  Mix together eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon.  Add in slices of bread and let each side soak for 1 minute.  Top one slice of bread with filling of choice (nutella, peanut butter, bananas, etc.) then place it in the waffle maker and top with another slice of bread.  Close the waffle maker and gently press the sandwich together with the waffle maker so you're sure it gets cooked through.  For the frosting, mix together greek yogurt and nutella until smooth.  Top the waffles with the with nutella greek yogurt frosting.

You're gonna love it.
