1. I was on the Body Love Project podcast.

2. New seminar next week

For all RDs, RD2bs & other health professionals working with clients…

Next Thursday (July 27th), I’ll be partnering again with inspirdtoseek Mentor Series to host a seminar on how to empower your clients with a better outlook on their body image.  A seminar, workbook and 2 CPEs are all included.  I’ve done 2 previous Intuitive Eating seminars with them and you can now get access to the Seminar Replays + 1 CPE here.  The seminar replays will only be available for a limited time.

3. Pom poms

That pom pom maternity dress I love is back in stock.  FINALLY.  I ordered it last night and am going to wear it at least weekly.

4. Favorite thing I heard this week…

A reminder for slowing down and not being so go go go.

5. I’m just curious…

In high school and college I always termed myself a morning person.  Mainly because I think I viewed it “better” or “more productive” to be a morning person.  But I’ve realized I work the best late at night and who cares about trying to be a morning person.  Me trying to get computer work done in the morning is pointless…it never works.  I’d say my most productive hours (when i feel my most creative) are from 9pm to 11pm…this is why a 9 to 5 style job would be really difficult for me.  Are you a morning person or night person…or both?

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! We have a lot of time with family planned for our weekend :)

  1. I’m definitely a morning person – I get all my best writing done, and have my best yoga practices early in the morning before I’m up and around other people.

And I love that “learn to rest while awake” quote! So clever, and such good advice.

  2. I love the Pom Pom Dress! Am looking forward to seeing you wear it! The thought about “resting while awake” is wonderful. My family is a bit more to the tune “you can rest when you are dead” and only now (in my mid 30s) intuitive eating is slowly followed by intuitive living. I love your self care posts because that is a area I really struggle with!

I am a morning person and that was such a bad thing when growing up. I get so tired around 9ish and never had any fun going to bars, clubs or any other activities. Now I am a mom and the mornings are my most cherished time of the day!

  3. I’m a big time morning person, but I definitely don’t think it’s “better”. I think it’s just important to know when you work the best. I always plan to get things done at night after our little guy goes to bed and it never, never happens. I should know better by now! Also, I’m in love with that pom pom dress and would definitely buy it if I were pregnant!

  4. Definitely a morning person! I dread when my husband informs me he’s made us evening plans with friends. I fizzle at 8pm!

    • Hahaha I so relate to this, Gaby. My husband snagged his office’s tix to a baseball game tonight and I’m like, how am I going to make it to 11???

  5. I was a total night owl until I had my daughter. Now, she doesn’t go to bed until 9 PM at least, so I am definitely a morning person if I want to get any self-care time in the day!

  6. Love that pom pom dress!

I am a morning person for sure–I can get more done between 8 a.m. and noon than I could get done if I worked from noon to 8 p.m., and forget working in the evening–I am basically useless by 9 p.m.

  7. I say I’m a morning person (that’s when I’k most motivated to get up and do things), but like….after 7:30am morning person. It’d be great to get up at 6 (or earlier like some people do!) and be super productive, but I need a lot of sleep and it just doesn’t happen hehe.

  8. I feel like a teenager typing this (I’m a grad student!), but I really feel like I’m neither a morning nor a night person! I function from 10 am-3 pm or so and then I can focus on tasks like working out or cooking, but getting more work done is always so hard. I too always thought I was a morning person but I think that was more my teacher life/schedule demanding it. (And in comparison to teenagers, of course I was more awake hahaha)

  9. OMG. I have listened to all of the podcasts you’ve been featured on so far, and I have loved each one. You’re perspective has gotten me through a significantly tough year and you are a breath of fresh air.

  10. I agree with a few readers above, I lean towards being a morning person but that means being productive after 8 am, not getting up before it’s light out! I guess I’m made for the 9-5 life. Weirdly enough, I love jet lag when it wakes me up super early in the morning because then I get to experience the calm that comes with being awake when not many others are… but I don’t need that in my day-to-day life! haha.

  11. I am SO a night person. I also didn’t pretty well between 10 am – 2 pm, but I can’t get anything done in the mornings and those hours after 2 pm are brutal! I love the twilight hours and can easily feel functional until 1 am.

  12. I don’t live rushed, get up and go mornings (slow coffee, pancakes, reading…before anything abrupt) but my most productive and creative writing hours are between 8-11am. I WISH they were evening because I have more time then…girl, I’m working a 9-5 for the first time in my life and I will be going back to the non traditional work schedule ASAP!

  13. i have always been a morning person..i dont know about the productivity aspect but i love the quietness in the morning…and literally cant stay past 10-11 pm.

that pom pom dress is too adorable.

  14. I was definitely a night person in high school/college, staying up late to study. Now that I’ve been 8-5 for several years my body is getting more used to waking up early and getting work done, and I definitely concentrate better at the beginning of the day vs the end of the day.

  15. Oh thank you so much! Finally another night owl out there in the blog world! I felt very alone ;) with pretty much every other blogger being aa morning person and early riser. Honestly, I occasionally joke that I’m only half-awake until 8 or 9 PM.
That maternity dress is beautiful. I’m sure it’s going to look awesome on you.
Regarding that quote: I think we’re a little better at that here in Europe. Not that I didn’t still know a few people who could use some slowing down but overall, people aren’t quite as go-go-go.

  16. Both! I get most done from 5 Am till 8 AM. And then I’m useless until maybe 9 PM, then I get a second wave of energy and can work with great focus for several hours. I suffer from insomnia, and this is the only great thing about it :(

That dress is beautiful! Have a great weekend!

  17. I am for sure a morning person, whether it be working, movement, or writing. I also just feel so peaceful in the mornings, like there is so much opportunity in the day ahead. There is such beauty in each new day! Have a great weekend!
