Creamer Hot Chocolate

This is one of my very favorite ways to make hot chocolate.

You can use any flavored creamer you have to whip up a creamy, flavored hot chocolate. My favorites have been using vanilla or hazelnut creamer. Or you can even get creative and mix creamer flavors to make unique flavor combos…a very good idea.

This hot cocoa takes 5 ingredients, less than 5 minutes, and I imagine many of you would have all the needed the ingredients in your pantry: milk, chocolate chips, flavored creamer, cocoa and salt. That’s it!

I whirled mine all together with a milk frother (<–affiliate link), which you don’t have to do but I LOVE my milk frother and think it is the very best hot chocolate making tool. It’d also make a great holiday gift for anyone who doesn’t have one.

Enjoy!

Creamer Hot Chocolate

Yield: serves 1 (easily doubled, tripled...)

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups milk (I used 2%)
1 tablespoon chocolate chips
1 tablespoon flavored creamer of choice
1/2 tablespoon dark cocoa
pinch salt

Directions:

In a mug, combine all ingredients.  Heat in the microwave until milk is hot and chocolate is melted.  Use a milk frother (or just a spoon) to stir everything together. Serve immediately.

  1. I just enjoyed hot chocolate tonight…love how I always have all of these ingredients on hand! Can’t wait to try this :)

  2. What a great idea – I usually just use whole milk but flavored creamer sounds wonderful.

  3. Yum!! Now that it’s snowy and cold up here in Michigan, this would probably be delicious with peppermint mocha creamer!
