Food we ate, Chapter 29.

My sister brought this pasta salad to the lake recently and it was super good. So I made it for us this week and put it in the fridge as a scoopable (read: Andrew’s favorite meal quality) dish for lunches or dinners.

For another cold pasta salad, one night I made us an orzo salad + salmon + peaches. How Sweet Eats says you get one perfect peach a season. I agree. And I’m still on the hunt! For the orzo, I actually mixed half a lemon kale salad kit into the orzo. Worked great. I used all of the dressing and saved the rest of the salad kit to use in a smoothie later.

One night I desperately felt like I HAD TO HAVE A BURGER. So we did that. One of the girls wanted to do a picnic, so we ate around the pool…and I ate in the pool. It was awesome.

I made puff pastry pizza. I’m the only one (including Andrew) who liked it. I was like you guys are crazy…this is fantastic!

Corndog, pizza + salad at the lakehouse.

salmon + sweet potato fries + sweet chili sauce brussels sprouts.

Ella turned 4! We had a great joint bday with her bff. If you’re local, the cake was from Take the Cake and they are the best cakes ever. I drive out of my way (or, more accurately, I made Andrew drive out of *his* way) to get it. Totally worth the drive.

My MIL grew cantaloupe this year and they were so good.

We threw a shower for my sister who is pregnant with identical twin boys! Can’t wait to meet them. I brought the best cinnamon rolls. Our family did a taste test prior and everyone was a fan.

And, so many green smoothies. It’s so hot. They are so cold. It’s great. They are usually some mix of bananas, milk, ice, and an acai packet. Then greens and/or frozen cauliflower. And sometimes almond butter. And sometimes protein powder.

  1. Kylie love this and bookmarked some of these ideas for our meals!! Would be great if you could talk about your grocery buying patterns. I am trying to incorporate my meal cravings into what I eat, but it’s hard without needing to go to the store every day!!! Thank you!!!

  2. I think you introduced my yo How Sweet Eats. Thank you! So many fun recipes! And so sad that no one else liked the pizza. Looks delicious!

  3. Yes, so many smoothies in this house, too. SO HOT.

I love the pic of you and Ella! How precious. I hope she had a great birthday.

I’ve been all about the pasta salads, too lately. Bookmarking these to make the rest of the summer.

  4. Always love these posts, Kylie!

Peaches are a gift of summer. 🍑
