The Epicest Caramelized Apple Crumble Bars.

Say, “hello” to this no-bake cobbler thingy.  It’s dreamy!

And you should totally have it for breakfast with a vanilla latte.  These bars are also great if you are so over KIND bars/Snickers bar/Clif bar/Twix bar/Quest bars (umm those are not yum)/Lara bars/etc and would like a new bar option in your life.  Yes.  If you need a way to switch it up, add in these!

And another thought I had…if you just want to make the crumble layer of these crumble bars and keep it in your fridge and sprinkle it on your oatmeal…I highly recommend that.  BECAUSE the crumble layer is freaking delicious and would pair excellently on a bowl of oatmeal.

ENJOY:)

The Epicest Caramelized Apple Crumble Bars.

Yield: Makes a loaf pan worth of bars:) Eat them according to your hunger/fullness level.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

crumble layer
1 cup oat flour
1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

filling
1 large honeycrisp apples, thinly sliced
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

First start making your filling.  In a skillet over medium heat, add butter and apples.  Toss together and cook for 5 minutes tossing frequently.  Add in brown sugar and cinnamon and continue to toss and cook.  Decrease heat to low and continue to cook apples down as you make your crumble layer.

In a bowl, combine all crumble layer ingredients.  Use your hands to mix/mash ingredients all together until the dough clumps together with squeezed into a ball.  Press half the dough into the bottom on a loaf pan.  Then add on the apple layer.  Then add the rest of the crumble to the top and gentle press it down to make it a little less crumbly.  Serve immediately or keep in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Hi! Whole wheat flour or all-purpose flour would probably work too.  I do like the oat-y flavor the oat flour gives these though:)

based off these.

  1. We have one very large Honeycrisp apple left, so this is going on our menu for the weekend! :)

  2. I love that you don’t need to bake these! I crave apple crisp almost.. well.. every night… but of course I can’t usually give myself it because I’d have to wait 45 minutes for it to be done baking. And my belly got no time for that. Problem solved!!

  3. Need. This. NOW! I love this.

  4. I completely agree with the comment on Quest bars! I have tried a few flavors and think they are all terrible – I do not understand the large following those bars have!

  5. That first photo though!! How did you create that? Vanilla lattes are my favorite too. :) I definitely prefer apple crisp over apple pie any day!

  6. I am going to visit a friend this weekend to help her with her 2 year old and newborn and these are now on my list of things to make while I am there! Do you think you can make them without the walnuts? I have a nut allergy so I want to leave them out but I am nervous the consistency won’t be right.

  7. I was just searching for a dessert to take to my in laws this weekend, problem solved!! Thanks :)

  8. LOVE that you don’t say a serving size. Or talk about your own weight, pants sizes, etc. Your blog is the.absolute.best!

  9. Well….hello new (breakfast) lover… I think we are going to get to know each other very well now that dark, cold mornings are just over the horizon here Down Under….
