Food we ate, Chapter 11.

We’ve been to California and now are back home again. Are you traveling for Spring Break? I’d love to hear about places you love, especially cooler places that would be a break from the Houston heat come August.

Spring Break 2024, letssss gooooo.

We had a string of great weather and beached every day.

Nothing beats that “freshly showered after being at the beach” feeling.

The cousins lived it up.

Leah screamed, a lot. It was exhausting. Ready for her to have more words!

Andrew made these oven-roasted parmesan carrots with balsamic glaze that were incredible. Everyone agreed. Well, not the kids, but let’s not be ridiculous lol.

I had plenty of margaritas made by Andrew thankyouverymuch.

All breakfasts were pastries + lattes (me) / hot chocolates (kids).

After bopping around town, we’d come back home for an eggy brunch.

Ella shared some of her candy store haul with me. The best skittles flavor.

The whole bunch.

Cousins.

My girls<3 I got them to take this photo, and not rebel, by telling them I was trying to see who was the tallest.

My beautiful baby <3

Me and Jojo accidentally twinning!

THE KIDS DID NOT STOP MOVING ALL DAY LONG.

Gelato afternoons.

Best meal I had – enchiladas divorciadas – on a date night with Andrew. Thanks to Poobah and Gramz for watching the kids.

One morning I climbed over and out our balcony so I could go have breakfast alone without kid noise and unjangle my nervous system. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

More beach.

Calamari.

Chicken nuggets + fries for kids.

Seared tuna bowls for adults.

Blue cheese burgers one night – a favorite.

And that’s a wrap on Laguna 2024. The travel days were roughhhh with a 3 hour delay on the way home and I kept thinking, “this is too much”, but the days in between were really wonderful – worth it! Until next year!

  4. Beautiful pictures! It looks like you had such a a sunny, happy trip! Maine is a great place to be in August! The food in the Portland area is amazing and there’s the ocean, lakes, and mountains.

  5. It’s lovely to see your girls beautiful faces again. I hope you blog about life more often & it’s not necessarily  food related because I always found you to be so refreshingly upfront and honest x.
