Food we ate, Chapter 16.

It was Andrew’s birthday week (woohoo!) and I went all out.

The theme in my mind was: an Andrew-inspired Night of Luxury. I ended up renting him a Porsche for a couple days and we went to dinner at a speakeasy steakhouse with live jazz and elevated cocktails.

My mom watched the girls and off we went. It was a blast.

Dinner: grilled romaine caesar, crab cakes for me, focaccia + blue cheese butter.

And I got to wear my favorite dress.

We celebrated with the girls the night before with the best chocolate blackout cake and presents.

For the rest of the week I did several oatmeal lunches.

A couple packets of brown sugar & maple protein oats + walnuts.

Another lunch was overnight oats with almond butter on top.

One night I had to drive pretty far to return the rented car and then had leftover pizza + a veggie tray I had made for the kids (but they only nibbled on a teeny tiny bit).

Leah kept feeding me the coin-shaped carrots like I was a piggy bank and she thought it was hilarioussss.

I was craving buffalo chicken nuggets, so I made some to put on a salad with some spoonfuls of blue cheese dressing to top. Yum.

This was a good one – salmon, avocado with lime & cilantro, super fragrant rice Andrew had made for his lunches this week, and pickled carrots. Delicious.

Breakfast has been mostly eggs and roasted sweet potatoes. Got a twin yolk, which always feels exciting.

Yogurt bowl for a snack.

On Monday Jo was out of school, so since I needed to take the day off anyways I kept the little girls home too and we went to the zoo. I was sooo exhausted by the time we finally got back home, but geez the below photo is gold.

Leah has been liking dry toast for breakfast and it makes me laugh. It’s like she’s an old man.

One lunch I made buffalo cauliflower in the air fryer and paired it with leftover pulled pork and cookies.

We’ve found a new kolache place and have gone a couple times – yum.

One night after dinner while Andrew was putting the big girls to sleep I made a cave outta the bday cake. This cake is so good that I couldn’t care less about the icing.

Another snack was a chocolate croissant + latte.

And, last night I wanted something quick and easy so I made a quesadilla + chips.

We have a pretty chill weekend, so I imagine we’ll work on some house projects…and maybe take the girls to putt putt to get out of the house so we don’t sit around all weekend and annoy each other lol. Hope you have a good one!
