Food we ate, Chapter 10. (Laguna 2023)

We just got back from our annual week in Laguna.

I told my parents that Laguna is one of my favorite things they did for us. We went every March of my childhood. I have so many memories that all blend together. Our time there feels like a week-long déjà vu, which I find wonderful and disorienting. It’s like deja vu, but then also, when did all these kids get here lol?! I love how familiar Laguna is to me and how comfortable I am there. Seeing my girls sleep in the bed I slept in as a kid is so special to me. I love getting to share Laguna with them. Here are some glimpses of the trip, if you wanna see.

First up, the best margarita OF MY LIFE. It was the Sea Foam Margarita from Rum Social. It looks a bit like a drinkable skittle in the below picture, but in person I found it super beautiful and luxurious. The salted egg foam on top really did look like sea foam. I can’t wait to recreate this at home.

This was date night for Andrew and me. We had plantains for an appetizer. And then I had coconut shrimp and fried rice for my main. We also split a super underwhelming slice of cake. The restaurant was an Asian-Caribbean fusion. I love a fusion!

Another night we had my favorite Laguna meal, which is salmon, salad, sourdough and wine.

My favorite almond croissant comes from Zinc. Yum.

Leah tried some too…

Another morning I had Zinc’s chilaquiles, which were great after I took off the lettuce. It didn’t need to be there.

One day a stomach bug ran through some of us, so I kept it simple with crackers. This day Andrew took the big girls out and I watched 3 glorious, uninterrupted hours of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. It was fantastic and Leah napped for 98% of it.

Andddd that’s all the food pictures I took. Here are some other highlights.

Leah is about to start crawling! I love the crawling stage.

When in doubt, put the baby in the laundry basket with a bunch of toys.

Family photo!

The last day I took some alone time while Andrew kept the girls.

One early, early morning I found myself up with a crying baby. The timeshare we stay in is spacious, but few things are spacious enough when there are 3 kids involved lol. So Leah and I hid out in the bathroom to keep quiet until it was a resonable time for everyone else to wake up.

Until next year!

  1. I love how you describe your Laguna vacation as a “week-long deja vu.”
Baby Leah is even cuter…idk how that’s possible!
Glad you were able to take time to re-charge.

  2. Aw Rowan has the same outfit as Leah when she’s crawling on the floor – so fun!! What a great trip with special memories made. :)
